Center II Release Outcomes
Rapides Parish Detention Center II is a local correctional setting operated by RPSO. The sheriff describes it as holding offenders who perform contract labor for public agencies. That makes sentence completion, program assignment, and internal movement more central than a simple pretrial bond explanation. Still, the facility type cannot prove why one person left. The booking entry, court judgment, and destination field must identify the actual event.
A person may complete a local term and return to the community. Another may shift to the Rapides Parish Transitional Work Program at the same address. A person held under DPS&C authority can move to another state placement or later enter community supervision. Center II may also transfer someone to Center I, Center III, another parish, or an outside agency. Each route ends or changes the Center II placement, but only some routes end custody.
Verify a Center II Release
RPSO’s official app routes inmate searches to the New World Inmate Inquiry. The historical tool can show completed bookings when “In Custody” is left unchecked. Search by name, subject number, booking number, booking-date range, or assigned facility. Open the full result. A released booking can display an exact Release Date and time, the booking number, assigned facility, prisoner type, charge details, bond information, and prior booking history.
The timestamp proves the displayed booking ended. It does not supply a verified release reason, and it may not name the next placement in plain language. Use a short check built around the shared site:
- Open the correct booking and record its facility, booking number, and release timestamp.
- Ask whether the entry identifies Detention Center II or the transitional work program.
- Request the release type or authority plus the destination or receiving agency.
- Check the Ninth Judicial District record for the sentence, order, or modification.
- Use LAVNS and DPS&C when state legal custody or supervision appears.
A current roster is only a present-custody view. Absence is not release proof. The Rapides Parish release search covers the broader record chain, including federal and immigration paths when those agencies are named.
Center II Records Contact
Facility staff can route a status question, but a written record request is stronger when the mechanism or destination matters. Include the complete facility name, person, date range, and booking number if known. RPSO Jail Records lists 318-449-5453 for jail-record and parish-time questions. The official sheriff contact point can route an inquiry. DOC Classification & Billing lists 318-449-5452, which may help with a DPS&C offender placed locally.

Ask for the existing booking-and-release log, jail card, physical release timestamp, release authority or type, destination, transfer papers, and relevant charge or docket references. State that Detention Center II and the Rapides Parish TWP share this address and phone. That fact can prevent the custodian from treating a program reassignment as the final event being requested.
RPSO publishes general weekday business hours, but no official Center II release schedule, exit gate, waiting rule, or property-return procedure was found. Call before an in-person trip. Published office hours are not a promise that a record will be produced or that a person will leave at a set time.
Center II Sentenced Custody
The sheriff characterizes Center II as holding about 200 offenders who provide contract labor for public agencies. That published figure gives scale and explains the facility’s local correctional role. It is not a live census. The work assignment also does not establish release, parole, or discharge. A person can perform work while still confined under a parish sentence or another legal authority.
A local sentence can end through completion, credit for time served, or a later court order. State custody follows a different record chain. When DPS&C has legal custody, Louisiana VINE/LAVNS can show prison or community-supervision status, and the DPS&C telephone locator can supply a projected release date when applicable. RPSO still documents movement out of the local building, while DPS&C controls the state sentence computation.
Rapides Multi-Site Transfers
Rapides Parish has three numbered detention centers and one transitional work program. They should not be reduced to a single generic jail. Center I serves as intake and houses a mixed population. Center III is described as a largely sentenced facility. Center II has the contract-labor role, while TWP is a custody placement built around transition and work. A person can move among those sites without a new arrest and without final discharge.
The New World booking history may reveal more than the live roster, but an internal destination may still require Jail Records confirmation. Ask the sheriff to search associated booking and release systems across all Rapides sites. Provide the date span wide enough to capture a booking that began before the apparent departure. Then request the destination field and any transfer record so the last local step is not mistaken for the end of all custody.
Center II Federal Custody Checks
The published USMS detention-services agreement names the Rapides facility at 700 Murray Street, which is Center I’s address, not Center II’s. Even so, a person can move from Center II to Center I before federal custody continues. That is why a request should search the whole local booking chain and identify the receiving agency. A disappearance from the Center II roster may be only the first leg of that transfer.
If USMS is named, use the federal docket or USMS route for a pretrial federal person. The BOP locator is most useful for a sentenced federal record and can show a past release date or a status such as “RELEASED.” It does not replace the RPSO transfer entry. If ICE appears, use the ICE detainee locator and the relevant field office. A no-match does not establish community release because timing, spelling, transfer, or non-searchable custody may explain it.
Center II Judicial Release Proof
The Ninth Judicial District or Alexandria City Court record supplies the local legal authority. Criminal minutes can show the sentence, credit for time served, probation, dismissal, bond order, warrant, or later modification. RPSO supplies the physical departure and destination. Neither source should be forced to answer the other’s question. A sentence-completion entry does not give the exact door time, while a New World timestamp does not state every legal reason.
RAPID E-Search instructions explain registration, email confirmation, and paid access. Redacted copies ordered online remain downloadable for a limited period, while certified copies require mail or an in-person request. Match person, docket, booking number, date, and charge. If a hold from another matter remained, the court action in one case may not have produced community release.
Center II Release Fields
A narrow field list helps the custodian locate an existing record and avoids asking for an agency-created explanation. The best Center II response identifies the booking episode, facility, timing, authority, and destination. Some fields may not appear in the public New World view, so ask for them without promising that every item is maintained in one database.
| Field | What it resolves |
|---|---|
| Booking number and dates | Links the request to the correct custody episode. |
| Facility or program | Separates Center II from the TWP at the shared address. |
| Release date and time | Shows when the displayed local placement ended. |
| Authority or type | Connects the event to sentence completion, court action, or another basis. |
| Destination | Distinguishes community return from an internal or outside transfer. |
Use “released from Center II” only for the building-level fact. Use “fully discharged” only when the sentence or supervision record supports it. When LAVNS shows community supervision, the person may be outside the facility while still subject to DPS&C authority.
